Bhubaneswar: In a commendable act of compassion, Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling stopped his vehicle on spotting a road accident, personally called an ambulance, and ensured the injured received immediate medical attention.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Saturday when the Minister was returning to Bhubaneswar after completing his official engagements. Near Gurjibhata Square on the way, he noticed a road accident and immediately asked his driver to stop the car.
Minister Mahaling got down from his vehicle and rushed to the spot. He personally called an ambulance and coordinated the rescue. The injured persons were first shifted to a nearby clinic for primary treatment. The Minister also accompanied the victims to the medical facility in the ambulance. He inquired about their condition from the doctors and waited until the doctors confirmed that the injured were stable. Only after being assured of their well-being did the Minister resume his journey.
This humane gesture by the Health Minister has been widely appreciated by people.
