Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and wind speeds of 30–40 kmph in parts of Odisha over the next two hours.
According to a nowcast warning issued at 2.30 pm, such weather conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places in Puri, Khordha, and Cuttack districts.
The IMD advised people to remain alert and keep a close watch on changing weather conditions. Residents have also been urged to move to safer places during thunderstorms to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
