Bhubaneswar: A man allegedly killed his son following a family dispute in Arkil village under Rengali Dam Site police station limits in Angul district, police said on Wednesday. Three members of the family have been detained in connection with the incident.
According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Kuja Behera, while the accused father has been identified as Muralidhar Behera. The incident reportedly occurred after a heated argument between the father and son over a family matter escalated.
The accused allegedly killed his son in a fit of rage. He then reportedly transported the body to a nearby forest in an attempt to conceal the crime and buried it there.
The matter came to light after a search operation was launched following the victim’s disappearance. After several days of searching, the body was recovered from the forest six days after the incident.
Police have detained the accused father, along with the mother and the deceased’s first wife, for questioning to ascertain their roles in the incident. Further investigation is underway.
