Bhubaneswar: A private engineering college student was allegedly gang-raped by her boyfriend and three of his friends at a private mess in the Kaimatia area under Info Valley police station in Bhubaneswar, police said on Tuesday. All four accused have been arrested, and an investigation is underway.
The accused were identified as Sipun Behera, Ranjan Behera, Shubhankar Padhi and Ratikant.
According to reports, the incident allegedly took place after the student was called to her boyfriend’s room at the mess.
Following the incident, the survivor lodged a complaint at Info Valley police station. Acting on the complaint, police detained the accused persons and later placed them under arrest.
The accused are being interrogated, and efforts are underway to ascertain the sequence of events surrounding the alleged crime. The Commissionerate Police and the scientific team also visited the place and started an investigation.
