Bhubaneswar: The Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Department has reassured citizens that adequate quantities of petrol and diesel are available across the state. A high-level meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra at his office in Lok Seva Bhavan to review the fuel supply situation.
Minister Patra directed officials and oil company representatives to maintain a stable supply chain and give top priority to public interest. He emphasized the need for seamless distribution so that no consumer faces inconvenience.
During the meeting, representatives from oil companies informed that petrol and diesel are currently available in sufficient quantities at all petrol pumps in the state. They appealed to the public not to panic and avoid purchasing more fuel than their actual requirement, requesting citizens to maintain normal buying patterns.
The companies also assured prompt action on any isolated reports of shortages at specific outlets. Special teams will immediately address and resolve such complaints to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Prominent attendees included Indian Oil State Head Kamal Sheel, HPCL representative Ashish Pandey, BPCL’s Deepak Agarwal, and senior officers from the Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Department.
The government and oil companies together affirmed their commitment to maintaining smooth fuel availability and safeguarding consumer welfare in the state.
