Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance has unearthed assets worth several crores, including five multi-storeyed buildings, 68 plots of land measuring over 65 acres, two farmhouses spanning nearly 17 acres, and a market complex with 8 cabins, during house searches on the properties of Bhubaneswar Sabar, Executive Engineer (EE), R&B Division, Bhawanipatana.
The raids were conducted today on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets. Searches were carried out simultaneously at six locations in Kalahandi district by six teams of Odisha Vigilance led by DSPs and Inspectors on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatana.
Key assets recovered so far in the name of Sri Sabar and his family members include:One double-storeyed building measuring approximately 5225 sqft at Gosanimunda, Bhawanipatana town, another double-storeyed building of 2625 sqft at Kusumkhunti, Koksara, a double-storeyed building under construction measuring 4228 sqft at Moter Chhak, Koksara, another under-construction double-storeyed building of 1300 sqft at Kusumkhunti, Koksara, one building of 1180 sqft with sewerage tank and borewell at Dwarasuni, a market complex with 8 cabins measuring 2214 sqft at Moter Chhak, Koksara, two farmhouses spanning 16.93 acres at Kitpadar near Bhawanipatana town with a large number of mango, coconut and palm trees, and 68 plots totaling 65.365 acres on the outskirts of Bhawanipatna, Koksara and Nabarangpur towns.
Besides immovable properties, authorities also found deposits of Rs.10.72 lakhs, one Hyundai Creta car, and cash along with household articles worth around Rs.19.78 lakhs.The measurement and valuation of the buildings, farmhouses, market complex and plots are being carried out by the Vigilance Technical Wing. Sri Bhubaneswar Sabar is being examined to ascertain the source of these assets.
Further searches are continuing and more assets are likely to be unearthed, with the overall valuation expected to rise.Sri Bhubaneswar Sabar (DOB: 26.06.1979) joined government service on 1st July 1999 as a Junior Engineer with an initial salary of Rs.6,000/-. He was promoted to Assistant Engineer in 2013, Assistant Executive Engineer in 2016, and Executive Engineer in March 2024.
He is currently posted as EE, R&B Sub-Division, Dharmagarh and holds additional charge of EE, R&B Division, Bhawanipatana since January 2025.
