Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning predicting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds in seven districts during the next three hours.
According to the warning issued at 2:05 PM today, the weather event may affect one or two places in Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Kandhamal, Cuttack, Nayagarh, and Sambalpur districts. Winds with speeds reaching 30-40 kmph are also expected during the thunderstorms.
The IMD has advised people in these districts to closely monitor the weather for any worsening conditions.
Citizens have been urged to stay alert and move to safer places if required, particularly to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
People are advised to avoid open fields, staying under tall trees, and using electrical appliances during the stormy weather.
