Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a 24-year-old newly-married man allegedly committed suicide by hanging after suffering massive financial losses in online gaming.
The deceased has been identified as Manas Behera of Machhakuta area under Chhendipada police limits.
According to sources, Manas was deeply addicted to online games and had lost a huge amount of money in recent times. Despite marrying just 15 days ago, he could not overcome his addiction, which led to frequent quarrels with his family members.
Yesterday afternoon, Manas left home and did not return. His body was found hanging from a tree inside a cashew orchard near Machkuta field in the early morning.
Meanwhile, Chhendipada police sent the body for post-mortem before being handed over to the family.
Police registered a case of unnatural death and initiated an investigation.
