Bhubaneswar: In a moment of joy for wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists, tigress Zeenat has given birth to four healthy cubs in Odisha’s famous Similipal Tiger Reserve.
According to reports, the tigress delivered the four cubs on May 28, marking a significant success for the tiger conservation programme in the reserve. Forest department officials are closely monitoring the mother and her cubs, and special protection measures have been put in place for their safety.
It may be mentioned that Jinnat was translocated to Similipal from Maharashtra’s Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve in November 2024. Since her arrival, the Forest Department had been continuously tracking her movements. Her successful motherhood has brought new hope and momentum to tiger conservation efforts in Similipal.
