Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and strong winds in four districts of Odisha within three hours.
According to the nowcast warning issued at 11:30 am today, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts are likely to be affected during the next three hours.
The weather system may bring thunderstorms with lightning, light to moderate rain, and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph at one or two places in these districts.
The IMD has advised people to remain alert and keep a close watch on the local weather. Citizens, especially those in outdoor activities, are requested to move to safer locations in case of worsening conditions to avoid risks from lightning strikes and strong winds.
