Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Anu Garg today chaired a virtual meeting with all District Collectors to review preparations for a state-wide public relations and awareness programme marking the second anniversary of the State Government.
Secretaries of various departments joined the meeting from the conference room at Lok Seva Bhawan. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary said the State Government has achieved remarkable success in the last two years through various central and state schemes.
The main objective of the programme is to take these achievements to the public and present the government’s vision and development roadmap for the next three years. She stressed on highlighting how beneficiaries are gaining from government schemes, holding mutual discussions, taking feedback and ensuring wider reach of benefits.
Garg directed all District Collectors to work in coordination and ensure successful conduct of the events with active public participation. A secretary-level meeting was held yesterday to discuss state-level to village panchayat-level programmes. Detailed discussions with Collectors were held today on organising the events.
Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Housing and Information and Public Relations, Hemant Sharma, said various public relations programmes, exhibitions, awareness camps and mass media activities will be organised at district, block and village panchayat levels from June 12 to 15.
At the district level, discussions on the theme ‘Viksit Bharat for Viksit Odisha’, a three-day exhibition on government schemes and achievements, visits to projects, programmes in aspirational districts and blocks, organic farming workshops and interactions with media and opinion leaders will be held.
The focus will be on presenting the state’s successes in women empowerment, agriculture, rural development, health, livelihood, drinking water, land development and social security. Block and village panchayat-level programmes will be coordinated by the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Departments.
Awareness and service delivery camps will be organised by involving beneficiaries of various schemes. A week-long exhibition at the block level will cover implementation of PM Surya Ghar, PM Swanidhi, rural infrastructure, rural housing, roads, bridges, community projects, Subhadra Yojana, Ayushman Bharat and other schemes.
Seminars and programmes will also be held on issues including caste-based gatherings, farmer interactions, Subhadra Shakti meetings, facilitation for scheme beneficiaries and distribution of Ayushman Bayo Vandana cards.
With the ongoing heat wave across the state, the Chief Secretary advised Collectors to ensure adequate drinking water, anti-pollution measures and fire safety arrangements at all programme venues. She urged all departments, district officers, public representatives and citizens to ensure the programmes are organised successfully.
