CEO Odisha Seeks Voter Cooperation For Transparent SIR Exercise

Bhubaneswar: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is currently underway in Odisha, with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) urging citizens to extend full cooperation to ensure a transparent and error-free voter list.

The CEO has appealed to voters to actively cooperate with Booth Level Officers (BLOs), who are conducting door-to-door enumeration and data collection across the state as part of the revision exercise.

According to the CEO’s office, all eligible electors who have not yet submitted their enumeration forms are required to do so at the earliest through the concerned BLOs. Officials have cautioned that failure to submit the forms within the stipulated time may result in the removal of names from the electoral roll.

For the convenience of voters, the office has also clarified that enumeration forms can be submitted online through the Election Commission’s official portal (voters.eci.gov.in), eliminating the need to approach BLOs in person.

Voters have been advised to immediately contact their respective BLOs and submit duly filled enumeration forms within the prescribed deadline to ensure their inclusion in the updated electoral roll.

For assistance related to inclusion, correction, or any voter list-related query, citizens may contact the Election Commission of India’s toll-free helpline number 1950.

As per official data released by the CEO’s office, till 6 p.m. on Saturday, enumeration forms have been distributed to 1,98,97,331 voters in the state, accounting for 59.57 per cent of the total electorate.

Officials further clarified that no additional documents are being sought from voters for the enumeration process. The CEO’s office has also made provisions for self-service, allowing voters to download the form from the official website, fill it in, and upload it directly.

A statewide awareness campaign has been launched through electronic, print, and radio media, as well as cinema halls, to ensure wider participation and awareness about the SIR exercise.

The CEO has urged all stakeholders to participate in the democratic process and ensure that no eligible voter is left out, while also preventing the inclusion of ineligible names in the electoral roll.
