Bhubaneswar: Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi have greeted the people of Odisha on the occasion of the agricultural festival ‘Raja’.
In his message, Governor Dr. Kambhampati said Raja is a great festival of Odisha’s culture, nature, progress, and tradition. He noted that the message of environmental protection is embedded in the festival. “This festival represents the greatness of mother earth and strengthens brotherhood, friendship and goodwill,” the Governor said.
He extended greetings and best wishes to the brothers and sisters of Odisha on the festival of Joy. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, in a post on X, conveyed heartfelt greetings to the people of the state. Calling Raja the great festival of the living tradition of Odisha’s identity, he said it is a unique great union of soil and mother power.
“Raja is not only the beginning of the altered season. It is a great cultural embodiment of our eternal consciousness, a unique expression of gratitude towards nature and deep respect for womanhood,” the Chief Minister said.
He added that the tradition has elevated the self-esteem of the Odia nation by giving the highest place to the sanctity of womanhood, the power of creativity, and the dignity of motherhood. Raja, celebrated for three days, marks the onset of monsoon and honors the fertility of land and women.
