Keonjhar: At least five people were killed in two separate road accidents in the Kanjipani area of Keonjhar district on Sunday, even as the state celebrated the Raja festival.
According to reports, the first accident occurred near the Baitarani Bridge when a two-wheeler carrying two people was hit by an unidentified vehicle. The victims, identified as Akshaya Sanangi (40) and Laxman Sanangi (32), both residents of Kuanra, died on the spot.
In another incident near Mangala Mandir Chhak under the Kuanra area, three youths from Padakasada village were killed after their motorcycle was allegedly hit by a truck coming from the wrong direction. All three succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The identities of the three deceased youths were yet to be officially confirmed at the time of filing this report.
Upon receiving the information, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation.
