The visit to Pahadpur holds special emotional and political significance as Prime Minister Modi is making this trip at the personal invitation of President Droupadi Murmu. After assuming the highest constitutional office, President Murmu had invited the Prime Minister to her ancestral village, and he has gladly accepted the invitation.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will offer prayers at Goshani Peeth, a sacred tribal worship site, and spend time with students at SLS Memorial School, which was established by President Murmu in memory of her late husband and son.

According to the official schedule, PM Modi will arrive by helicopter at Pahadpur helipad at 11:05 am on June 20. He will reach Goshani Peeth at 11:15 am and spend about an hour in the region. He will then attend a public meeting at Dandaposh at 12:55 pm.

Thereafter, the Prime Minister will participate in the Odisha state government’s two-year completion anniversary programme at Dandaposh from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. He is scheduled to depart from Odisha at 2:15 pm, spending a total of around three hours in the state.

It is learnt that President Droupadi Murmu will arrive in Odisha on June 19 and will also attend the state government’s anniversary programme along with the Prime Minister.

This visit to Pahadpur is being seen as a special gesture by the Prime Minister in response to the President’s invitation. Security and other arrangements are being made on a war footing by the district administration.
