Bhubaneswar: In a significant security breach, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has seized 30 packets of unauthorised ghee from the sacred Roshaghara, where Mahaprasad is prepared.
According to reports, the unauthorised ghee was being illegally brought into the Roshaghara today when security personnel conducted a routine check and intercepted the consignment. The consignment was immediately confiscated upon verification that the ghee packets were not of the approved OMFED brand, which is exclusively permitted for use in the preparation of Mahaprasad.
It is pertinent to note that the temple administration has a strict rule mandating the use of only OMFED ghee for the preparation of Mahaprasad. Bringing any other brand or type of ghee inside the temple premises is completely prohibited.
The administration is now probing which Suar Sevak was involved in attempting to bring the fake ghee and whether there is a larger conspiracy behind it. A senior temple official stated that strict action will be taken against those found guilty.
In response to the incident, the temple administration has further strengthened security measures to ensure the purity and sanctity of the Mahaprasad.
This incident has raised serious concerns regarding the quality and authenticity of ingredients used in the preparation of Mahaprasad.
