Dhenkanal: A youth lost both his palms after a crude bomb exploded while he was assembling it for hunting animals at Gandataila village under Parjang police limits in Dhenkanal district. Two others accompanying him also sustained injuries due to the explosion.
According to reports, Birendra Naik of Gandataila Dalit Basti was making a bomb for poaching animals along with two associates. The device went off while Birendra was handling it, severing both his palms. The two associates were also injured in the blast.
Birendra was rushed to Parjang Hospital for treatment in critical condition. The other two associates fled from the spot out of fear.
On getting information, Dihadol Forester reached Parjang Medical. Police are also probing the case. Further details are awaited.
