Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Odisha was delayed due to inclement weather conditions. The President arrived in Rairangpur from Kalaikunda in West Bengal by road, after adverse weather forced a change from the planned air route.
She travelled via Bangiriposi and Bisoi, covering a road distance of more than 100 kilometres to reach Rairangpur. Security arrangements and administrative preparations were intensified along the route to ensure her safe and smooth passage amid the prevailing weather conditions.
On the first evening of her visit, President Murmu is scheduled to inaugurate multiple public welfare projects in Rairangpur. Her itinerary includes inaugurating an All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bhubaneswar Satellite Centre at the Sub-Divisional Hospital and a medical camp organised by AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
The President will also open a mega integrated rural piped water supply project for mining-affected villages in Kusumi block. The evening schedule will conclude with the inauguration of the Brahma Kumaris’ Matrushakti Bhavan, a newly constructed special Circuit House, and the Rairangpur Police District.
