Mayurbhanj: President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday said that India has always stood for peace and believes that issues across the world can only be resolved through dialogue and not conflict.
Addressing a public gathering at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district, where she attended the second anniversary celebrations of the state’s BJP government along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the President said India has consistently promoted the message of peace even during global crises.
“Whenever the world was reeling under war-like situations and uncertainties, India spread the message of peace. Issues can be resolved through mutual discussion, not through war,” she said.
Murmu also said India’s global stature has strengthened under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, praising his “influential leadership” and his commitment towards national development and welfare of citizens.
Highlighting India’s response during the COVID-19 pandemic, the President said the country demonstrated strong administrative and medical capability by successfully vaccinating its population on a large scale. She also noted that India extended vaccine support to several countries during the global health crisis.
She further said that India has always been among the first nations to extend assistance to countries affected by natural disasters, reflecting its humanitarian values and commitment to global cooperation.
