Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) observed the International Day of Yoga with great enthusiasm and active participation at the Railway Indoor Stadium, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar, on Sunday.
The programme was organised under the guidance of the General Manager, East Coast Railway, and witnessed the participation of senior railway officers, employees, and their family members.
The yoga session began with an inaugural address by the General Manager, who emphasised the importance of yoga in maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being, and a balanced lifestyle. He highlighted yoga as a vital practice for overall health and stress management.
Participants performed various yoga asanas and breathing exercises under the supervision of experienced yoga instructors.
Senior officials, including the Additional General Manager, Principal Heads of Departments, and officers from the ECoR Headquarters, actively took part in the session along with employees and their families.
The event was held in alignment with the nationwide celebration of the International Day of Yoga, promoting the message of harmony between body and mind. Participants also took the Yoga Protocol pledge, reaffirming their commitment to incorporating yoga into their daily routine.
The East Coast Railway continues its efforts to promote wellness, fitness, and mindfulness among its workforce, aiming to foster a healthy, positive, and productive work environment.
