Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati has expressed profound grief over the sudden passing of Rajesh Hansda, a distinguished archer and Archery coach.
In a message posted on his X handle, the Governor said: “Deeply saddened by the passing of Rajesh Hansda. His dedication to archery and his role in nurturing young talent will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences to his family and the archery community. May his soul attain sadgati.”
Rajesh Hansda was a prominent figure in Odisha’s archery scene. He served as a coach at the prestigious Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), where he played a pivotal role in mentoring and grooming young archers. Many of his trainees went on to represent the state and the country in national and international competitions. His mortal remains will be sent to his native place in Malkangiri district on Monday.
