Rayagada: A Test Identification (TI) Parade of the accused in the alleged mob violence case at Kalyansingpur block in Rayagada district was conducted on Monday at the Bissam Cuttack sub-jail, where the victim identified the accused in the presence of a judicial magistrate.

The TI Parade was conducted for around 24 accused before First Class Judicial Magistrate Pooja Jain. During the proceedings, the victim also gave a statement before the magistrate, recounting the incident and the circumstances surrounding it, according to official sources.

Security arrangements were tightened during the exercise. Bissam Cuttack SDPO Santosini Oram and the Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) remained present throughout the identification process. Police had also requested media personnel to maintain a safe distance from both the victim and the jail premises to ensure security and privacy.

Rayagada Superintendent of Police Raj Prasad said Kalyansingpur police had arrested 24 persons in connection with the case in phases. After being produced before a court, the accused were initially lodged in the Rayagada sub-jail before being shifted to the Bissam Cuttack sub-jail a few days ago to facilitate the TI Parade.
