Chief Secretary Garg Reviews Viksit Odisha Vision Implementation With TCF

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg on Wednesday reviewed the progress of the Viksit Odisha Vision 2036 | 2047 and stressed the need for strategic technical support to monitor the implementation of its targets and goals, while chairing a high-level meeting with representatives of The Convergence Foundation (TCF) and its portfolio organisations at Lok Seva Bhawan.

The meeting assessed the progress made under the three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Planning & Convergence Department and The Convergence Foundation on February 13, 2025. The MoU aims to provide strategic support to the Odisha Government in key sectors to help realise the vision of a Viksit Odisha by 2036.

The review meeting was attended by the leadership team of The Convergence Foundation and its portfolio organisations, including Centre for Effective Governance of Indian States, Foundation for Economic Development, Udaiti, Prosperiti, Rocket Learning, Central Square Foundation, GATI Foundation and Atithi.

Representing TCF were Chief Operating Officer Praveen Khanghtha and Director (Policy & Government Partnerships) Parikshit Luthra, along with representatives from its partner organisations.

The meeting noted that TCF’s portfolio organisations are currently working with several departments of the Odisha Government, including Industries, Labour & ESI, Women & Child Development, Housing & Urban Development, Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water, Health & Family Welfare, Tourism, MSME, Skill Development & Technical Education, Higher Education, and School & Mass Education. Their engagements span governance reforms, education, women’s empowerment, tourism, skilling, urban reforms, mental health, environment and economic development.

During the review, Chief Secretary Garg emphasised the need for focused technical assistance from TCF and its partner organisations in tracking the implementation of the Viksit Odisha Vision 2036 | 2047. She also underlined the importance of targeted interventions in priority sectors to ensure measurable outcomes and timely achievement of the state’s development goals.

Commissioner-cum-Secretaries of the Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water, Higher Education, Skill Development & Technical Education, Sports & Youth Services and MSME Departments, Director of Municipal Administration, Director of Social Welfare, and senior officers of the Planning & Convergence Department and other departments participated in the meeting. Consultant to the Office of the Chief Secretary Debendra Kumar Jena coordinated the proceedings.
