Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over several districts of Odisha.
According to the alert issued at 1:30 pm today, the weather phenomenon is very likely to occur at one or two places at Jajpur, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Koraput, Kalahandi, Bolangir and Rayagada during the next three hours. These districts have been issued yellow alert.
The IMD has advised people in these districts to keep a close watch on the weather for any worsening conditions and plan their activities accordingly for safety.
Residents, especially in rural and coastal areas, are advised to avoid open fields, water bodies, and tall structures during the thunderstorm activity.
