Bhubaneswar: The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE), Odisha, on Thursday released the second selection merit list for admission into Plus II courses for the 2026-27 academic session, with 46,570 students securing seats in the first phase of the second selection process.
According to the DHSE, a total of 87,549 applicants were considered during the phase. Of the selected candidates, 25,874 secured admission through slide-up requests, while 20,696 were selected as fresh applicants. As many as 15,569 applicants remained unselected.
The Arts stream accounted for the highest number of selections with 32,782 candidates, followed by Science with 11,297, Commerce with 2,083, Vocational with 261 and Sanskrit with 147.
The gender-wise break-up of the selected candidates includes 22,357 male students, 24,212 female students and one transgender candidate. A total of 23,231 applicants secured admission to their first-choice Higher Secondary Schools.
Among institutions, Ravenshaw Higher Secondary School in Cuttack recorded the highest cut-off marks in three major streams—78.00 per cent in Arts, 78.20 per cent in Commerce and 90.00 per cent in Science.
In the Vocational stream, Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, FM HSS, Balasore, registered the highest cut-off at 67.67 per cent. In the Upashastri stream, Sanskrit Higher Secondary School, Paralakhemundi, recorded the highest cut-off at 76.00 per cent.
The release of the second merit list is part of the ongoing Plus II admission process for the 2026-27 academic year across Higher Secondary Schools in Odisha.
