Bhubaneswar: A Revenue Inspector (RI) of Kaupada Circle in Kendrapara district was arrested by Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Friday while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,500 from a land applicant.
The accused RI has been identified as Sai Darshini Lenka.
According to Vigilance, the complainant had purchased a piece of land from two joint owners a few years ago and had applied for mutation on 24.06.2026 to get the Record of Rights (ROR)/Land Patta in his name. He had been following up with the RI to dispose of the mutation case.

When the applicant expressed inability to pay, she allegedly reduced the amount to Rs 5,500.Unable to meet the demand, the applicant approached Odisha Vigilance.
Acting on the complaint, a Vigilance team laid a trap and caught Lenka red-handed while she was accepting Rs 5,500 from the complainant.
The entire bribe money was recovered from her possession and seized. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are underway at three locations linked to Lenka from a disproportionate assets angle.
A case has been registered at Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No. 27 dated 23.07.2026 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. Further investigation is in progress.
