Bhubaneswar: Train movement has resumed in the Rayagada–Koraput section of East Coast Railway after water that had accumulated on the tracks due to incessant heavy rainfall receded on Monday
.According to East Coast Railway, waterlogging was reported over the railway track between Tikiri and Rauli stations earlier in the day following continuous rain in the region. As a precautionary measure, train services in the section were affected while railway officials monitored the situation closely.
Officials said the water has now completely receded at Tikiri. Following inspection by engineering staff and continuous monitoring, train operations have been normalised and rail traffic resumed safely in the section.
East Coast Railway stated that passenger safety remained the highest priority throughout the operation. Restoration work was taken up immediately and services were restored at the earliest to minimise inconvenience to passengers.
