Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday felicitated Jyotirmayee Nayak, the winner of Indian Idol Season 16, at his residence and announced a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh in recognition of her outstanding achievement.
During the meeting, Jyotirmayee presented the Indian Idol trophy to the Chief Minister and shared the story of her hard work and dedication that led to her success on the national stage.
Congratulating her on the remarkable feat, CM Majhi said that Jyotirmayee has brought immense pride to Odisha through her extraordinary talent and relentless perseverance, blessed by Lord Jagannath. He described her as a major source of inspiration for the new generation of singers in the state.
Notably, Jyotirmayee uses her musical talent not only for entertainment but also in healthcare. She has been applying music therapy in several cancer hospitals across the state to help ease the pain and suffering of patients.
Praising her unique talent and compassionate service, the Chief Minister called her a ‘Youth Icon’ for the entire state and the country. He expressed hope that her initiative of using music for patient care would set a new trend in the coming days.
CM Majhi further stated that the dedication and efforts of young talents like Jyotirmayee will play a vital role in realising the vision of a prosperous Odisha and a developed India.
