Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday launched a book on the life and ideals of Venerable Vedanta Keshari Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati Ji in Bhubaneswar.
The book titled “Vedanta Keshari Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati: Kruti O Byaktitwa” has been published by Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati Smrutinayas and authored by Bipin Bihari Nanda and Banchanidhi Panda.
The book was released in the evening by RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, in the presence of revered spiritual master Swami Paramhansa Pragyanananda, Chairman of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati Smrutinayas Swami Jivan Muktananda, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Mansukh Lal Sethia, along with saints, intellectuals and devotees.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Majhi said, “Hinduism is not a narrow religious ideology, but rather a living symbol of India’s spirit, culture, humanity, patriotism and sovereignty. Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati Ji was the true guardian of this eternal consciousness.”
“Swamiji was not just a saint; he was a father figure, protector and a man of high spiritual consciousness for the entire Hindu society, especially the tribal and forest-dwelling brothers and sisters,” the Chief Minister said.
He added that by dedicating his life to the welfare of forest-dwelling communities, education, cow protection and preservation of Sanatan culture, Swamiji created an eternal ideal for every Indian.
Paying tribute to Swamiji, Majhi said the state government has named the Government Medical College and Hospital in Phulbani after him. “We have also taken strong steps for the all-round development and strengthening of infrastructure at Jaleshpata Ashram,” he said.
“Let us continue on the path of service, culture, sacrifice and patriotism shown by Swamiji and resolve to build a prosperous, secure and self-respecting Odisha,” the Chief Minister said.
