Bhubaneswar: A video purportedly shot from inside the inner premises of the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri has gone viral on social media, once again raising concerns over security and restrictions at the shrine.
The footage, which captures the ritual of changing the flag on the Nilachakra and Patitapaban, was shared from the Instagram account ‘krutika_karpe2017’.
Sources indicate the video was recorded from within the temple’s inner enclosure (mandira bedha).The incident has prompted questions about how a mobile phone managed to enter the restricted inner areas of the temple and how the recording took place.
This is not an isolated case. In recent days, visuals from inside the temple complex have repeatedly surfaced online. On some occasions, photographs and videos from the inner premises have gone viral. Besides, people have been seen making reels in front of the Singhadwara. Also, videos captured by drones flying over the temple have also emerged. These incidents continue despite repeated directives and warnings issued by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration and local authorities.
