Kataka: The Special SC/ST Court in Cuttack on Wednesday granted conditional bail to suspended SCERT Director Manoj Padhi, who was arrested by the Odisha Crime Branch in connection with the alleged school textbook error case.
Padhi was taken into custody by the Crime Branch as part of its investigation into alleged irregularities and errors in school textbooks. Following his arrest, the investigating agency questioned him further as part of the ongoing probe.
The Crime Branch had earlier registered a case after an FIR was filed against six persons, including Padhi, over the alleged textbook discrepancies. The investigation was launched after the agency formally registered the FIR.
A special investigation team headed by DSP Narendra Behera has been probing the case. Officials have been examining multiple aspects of the alleged lapses and have questioned several persons during the course of the investigation.
The probe into the textbook error case is continuing, while the court has granted Padhi conditional bail subject to the terms laid down in its order.
