Bhubaneswar: Positioned as the nation’s “Energy Growth Engine,” Odisha is accelerating its clean energy transition and industrial expansion, targeting the addition of nearly 11 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy capacity by 2030.

Speaking as the Chief Guest at a major Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA) conference, Deputy Chief Minister & Minister of Energy  Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo highlighted that Odisha is a power-surplus state. Minister of State for Industries Sampad Chandra Swain also represented state industrial leadership at the high-level event.

Aligning with the Prime Minister’s “Purvodaya” vision to drive national growth through Eastern India, the leadership advocated extending industrial incentives directly to the energy sector to build a resilient, future-ready power grid centered around smart grid technology, digital substations, and AI-enabled asset management.

To fuel this transition, Odisha is leveraging its massive Rs 10 Lakh Crore investment pipeline, creating an unprecedented, long-term demand for high-grade electrical equipment, transformers, and smart transmission components.

Strategically located at the geographical heart of Eastern India with robust port connectivity, the state serves as an ideal hub for electrical equipment manufacturers. Companies establishing manufacturing bases in Odisha gain an unmatched logistical gateway to efficiently supply and export power infrastructure across all Eastern and North-Eastern states, as well as international markets.

Issuing a direct call to global industry leaders, technology providers, and investors—”Manufacture in Odisha, Innovate in Odisha, and Grow with Odisha”—Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo assured investors of a stable policy environment, transparent governance, and proactive support from both the Energy and Industry Departments.

By inviting equipment manufacturers to join this growth story, Odisha aims to build a modern, cyber-secure energy ecosystem that powers sustainable industrialization, inviting all stakeholders to shape the future of India’s energy transition toward the shared vision of Viksit Odisha and Viksit Bharat 2047.

Industry Minister Swain emphasized that Odisha’s robust ecosystem, plug-and-play industrial infrastructure, and investor-friendly policies make it the ultimate destination for green manufacturing and high-tech equipment suppliers.

The high-level event featured prominent dignitaries including Industries Department ACS Hemant Sharma, Energy Department ACS Vishal Kumar Dev, Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited CMD Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma, Central Electricity Authority Chairperson Ghanshyam Prasad, IEEMA President Vikram Gandotra, IEEMA Director General Charu Mathur, IEEMA Eastern Region Chairman Utkarsh Bansal, and Vice Chairman Parag Saraf. They were joined by senior state officers also.
