Bhubaneswar: The body of a woman attendant was found hanging at the quarters of Dharambandha Hospital in Nuapada district, triggering widespread discussion.
The deceased, a resident of the Dharambandha police station area, had been working as an attendant at the hospital for about one-and-a-half years.
Preliminary accounts suggest she may have taken the extreme step due to issues in a personal relationship.
As per reports, she was reportedly in a relationship with a young man employed as a security guard at the same hospital. After their relationship came to limelight, the guard was transferred to Khariar Road. On Friday night, an argument broke out between the two. Following the quarrel, the young man left the hospital premises.
The woman is said to have informed him over the phone that she would end her life. When he reached the spot, she was found hanging. He attempted to save her but was unsuccessful.
Upon being informed, Dharambandha police seized the body and detained the young man at the police station for further questioning. The exact reason behind the incident is yet to be clearly established. A scientific team has reached the location for a detailed investigation.
Meanwhile, family members of the deceased attendants have also arrived at the spot.
