Bhubaneswar: A recently built shed at Raurkela Railway Station collapsed on Monday morning, damaging a car and a tempo that were parked beneath it.
As per reports, the structure gave way around 9 am close to the main entrance of the station. Constructed just a few months earlier at an estimated cost of Rs 1 crore, the shed had been meant to offer protection from sun and rain to passengers and those using vehicles.
The sudden failure of the structure sparked panic among people present at the site, with many rushing away to avoid danger. No passengers were reported injured due to the immediate aftermath of the collapse. However, the falling debris struck the parked car and tempo, resulting in damage to both vehicles.
