New Delhi: Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned till 2 p.m. on Monday amid loud protests by Opposition members, who continued to demand a response from the government over the police action against NEET protesters as well as the controversy surrounding theft of donations collected for the Ram Temple.

The proceedings in the Lower House have been repeatedly disrupted throughout the ongoing Monsoon Session, with six of the eight Bills passed by the House so far being cleared without any debate.

Monday marked the 16th day of the Monsoon Session. The House was unable to complete the Question Hour.

Amid the continued sloganeering and protests by Opposition members, the proceedings could not run smoothly, prompting the Chair to adjourn the House until 2 p.m.

Despite the disruptions, legislative business continued to be taken up in the House.

Four Bills were introduced on Monday, covering fields related to tribunals, mining and mineral regulation, the name of Kerala, and co-operative development.

The Bills introduced included the Tribunal Reforms Bill, 2026; the Minerals and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026; the Kerala (Alteration of Name) Bill, 2026; and the National Co-operative Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2026.

The Kerala (Alteration of Name) Bill, 2026, proposes to change the name of the state of Kerala to ‘Keralam’.

The Tribunals Reforms Bill, 2026, seeks to improve the functioning of tribunals and ensure transparency and uniformity in the appointment and service conditions of tribunal members. It also proposes setting up a National Tribunals Commission.

The Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026 was introduced by Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy. This Bill seeks to further amend the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957.

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy also introduced the National Co-operative Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
