Bhubaneswar: A comprehensive workshop focusing on “Agri-preneurial Prospects for Ex-Servicemen under Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana (MKUY)” was organized today at the Krushi Bhavan, Bhubaneswar. The event aimed to guide veteran service members in leveraging state-supported schemes to build sustainable agricultural enterprises.
The inaugural session commenced with Sachin Ramchandra Jadhav, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the role of veterans in driving growth across agriculture and allied sectors.
Addressing the gathering, Sachin Ramchandra Jadhav emphasized the strategic alignment between expertise and modern agriculture. “Ex-servicemen bring unparalleled discipline, leadership, and resilience—qualities that are essential for successful agribusiness ventures,” Jadhav remarked. Through schemes like MKUY, the department is committed to handholding our veterans, providing financial subsidies, technical knowledge, and streamlined processes to turn them into leading agri-entrepreneurs in the state.
The technical sessions provided deep dives into investment opportunities across various sectors. A welcome address setting the strategic vision was delivered by Shri Shubhranshu Mishra, Managing Director, APICOL, alongside thematic addresses by Sriram Panda, Convenor, and Col Sujan Mohanty (Retd.), Co-Convenor of the Agri and Food Processing Committee, ICC Odisha State Council. Lt. Gen. Jayanta Kumar Mohanty (Retd.) was present.
