Bhubaneswar: In view of the prevailing flood situation across several parts of Odisha, Utkal University has postponed all undergraduate semester examinations scheduled for August 17, 2026.
The decision was announced by the Controller of Examinations through an official notification issued on Sunday.
According to the notification, the affected examinations include the UG (+3), B.Sc. ITM, B.Sc. Computer Science, and B.Ed. (UDTE) Fourth Semester Examinations–2026. The university stated that the examinations have been postponed until further notice due to disruptions in transportation and academic activities caused by the recent floods.
The university emphasised that the decision was taken to ensure the safety and convenience of students, faculty members, and examination personnel. Several districts have witnessed heavy rainfall and flooding, making travel difficult for students and staff.
The Controller of Examinations has directed all principals and directors of affiliated +3 degree colleges, including self-financing institutions, to immediately inform students and staff about the postponement. Colleges have also been instructed to display the notice prominently on their notice boards and circulate it through official communication channels.
Utkal University has assured students that a revised examination schedule, along with details regarding question paper distribution, will be announced separately in due course. Students have been advised to regularly check the university’s official notifications for further updates.
