Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a strong advisory for fishermen along the Odisha coast in view of expected rough sea conditions over the next few days.
According to the bulletin, squally weather with wind speeds reaching 40-50 kmph and occasionally gusting up to 60 kmph is very likely to prevail along and off the Odisha coast on August 17 and August 18.The sea condition is expected to remain rough to very rough during this period. In view of the adverse weather, the IMD has strongly advised fishermen not to venture into the sea along and off the Odisha coast till 18 August 2026.
Fishermen and coastal communities have been urged to remain cautious and follow weather advisories.
