Bhubaneswar: Several places in Odisha received heavy to very heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours, according to data released by the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar today.
Barkot in Debagada district recorded the highest rainfall of 162.2 mm, followed by Jujumara in Sambalpur (117.8 mm) and Chandrapur in Rayagada (115.0 mm).
Other stations that received significant rainfall include Bolangir (101.0 mm), Tarva in Sonepur (98.6 mm), Thuamul Rampur in Kalahandi (97.0 mm), Baragada (95.8 mm), Kalampur in Kalahandi (75.0 mm), Lathkata in Sundargada (70.0 mm), Tensa in Sundargada (68.8 mm), Kantamal in Boudh (62.0 mm), Junagarh in Kalahandi (53.8 mm) and Salebhatta in Bolangir (53.4 mm).
Two stations recorded very heavy rainfall while eight stations received heavy rainfall during the period. The state as a whole recorded a district average rainfall of 16.4 mm against the normal of 7.0 mm, registering a departure of +135 per cent.
