Bhubaneswar: The low-pressure area that was earlier over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas of Jharkhand and north Odisha now lay over Jharkhand and neighbourhood at 08:30 am on Tuesday, according to the Meteorological Centre of Bhubaneswar.
The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level and is tilting southwards with height. The system is likely to move nearly west-northwestwards across Jharkhand during the next 24 hours, the IMD said.
Under the influence of this system, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected at many places over Odisha, with heavy rainfall warnings continuing for several districts.
