Bhadrak: At least 10 transgender persons were injured after two groups allegedly clashed near the railway overbridge at Charampa in Bhadrak district late Friday night.
According to reports, one group was waiting near the railway overbridge when members of another group arrived at the spot. An argument reportedly broke out between the two sides, which later escalated into a physical altercation.
Members of one group allegedly attacked the others with sticks and sharp-edged weapons, leaving around 10 persons injured. The injured were subsequently rescued and shifted to the Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for treatment.
Upon being informed about the incident, personnel from Bhadrak Rural Police reached the spot and launched an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the clash and identify those involved.
The injured group has reportedly demanded stringent action against those responsible for the alleged attack.
Further investigation is underway.
