Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall and thunderstorm warnings for Odisha for the next three days.
The Met office has issued Red, Orange and Yellow warnings for different districts with forecast of heavy to very heavy rainfall and gusty winds from September 1 to September 3.
For September 1, IMD has issued Red Warning predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places very likely to occur over the districts of Sundaragada and Kendujhar.
For the same day, an Orange Warning has been issued predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Anugola and Mayurbhanj.
Additionally, a Yellow Warning (Be Aware) has also been issued predicting heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kataka, Dhenkanal, Subarnapur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamala and Nayagada.
Besides, the IMD has also predicted thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind with wind speed reaching upto 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Anugola, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj.
Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind with wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph is also very likely over Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Dhenkanal, Subarnapur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamala, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagada.
For September 2, the IMD has issued Orange Warning predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Baragada.
Yellow Warning for heavy rainfall has been issued at one or two places over the districts of Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Subarnapur, Nuapada and Balangir.
Besides, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind with wind speed reaching upto 40-50 kmph is very likely over Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Subarnapur, Nuapada, Balangir and wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph over Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj.
For September 3, IMD has issued a Yellow Warning predicting heavy rainfall at one or two places over the district of Baragada. Also, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind with wind speed reaching upto 40-50 kmph is very likely over Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj and wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph over Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagada.
