Bhubaneswar: In a move to meet the expected rush of passengers, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) will temporarily add extra coaches to several trains from September 1, providing additional berths and seating capacity on key routes.
As part of the arrangement, one Third AC coach will be attached to Train No. 18463 Bhubaneswar–KSR Bengaluru Prasanthi Express from September 1 to 30 and Train No. 18464 KSR Bengaluru–Bhubaneswar from September 2 to October 1.
One Third AC coach will also be added to Train No. 12819 Bhubaneswar–Anand Vihar Terminal Odisha Sampark Kranti Express from September 2 to 30 and Train No. 12820 Anand Vihar Terminal–Bhubaneswar from September 4 to October 2.
Similarly, Train No. 22879 Bhubaneswar–Tirupati will get one Third AC coach from September 5 to 26, while Train No. 22880 Tirupati–Bhubaneswar will have the additional coach from September 6 to 27.
On regional routes, one AC Chair Car coach will be attached to Train No. 18301 Sambalpur–Rayagada and Train No. 18302 Rayagada–Sambalpur from September 1 to 30.
Train No. 18447 Bhubaneswar–Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express will get one additional Third AC coach from September 1 to 30, while Train No. 18448 Jagdalpur–Bhubaneswar will have the additional coach from September 2 to October 1.
Further, one AC Chair Car coach will be attached to Train No. 18417 Puri–Gunupur from September 1 to 30 and Train No. 18418 Gunupur–Puri from September 2 to October 1.
Train No. 20832 Sambalpur–Shalimar Mahima Gossain Express will get one additional Sleeper Class coach from September 1 to 29, while Train No. 20831 Shalimar–Sambalpur will have the additional coach from September 2 to 30.
One Third AC coach will be attached to Train No. 20471 Shri Ganganagar–Puri Express from September 6 to 27 and Train No. 20472 Puri–Shri Ganganagar Express from September 9 to 30.
Besides, two unreserved General coaches will be added to Train No. 12893 Bhubaneswar–Purnakatak from September 1 to 30 and Train No. 12894 Purnakatak–Bhubaneswar from September 2 to October 1.
The temporary augmentation is aimed at providing additional accommodation to passengers and easing pressure on the railway network amid increased demand on these routes.
