Jayapur: A 22-year-old man was sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) and fined Rs 15,000 by a Jayapur court on Monday for raping a girl in Koraput district in 2025.
Ad-hoc Additional District and Sessions Judge (FTSC) Pragnyanalini Mishra pronounced the judgment at the District and Sessions Court Complex in Jayapur, convicting Sudarshan Nayak of Keraput village under Boipariguda police station limits under Section 64(2)(m) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
