Balangir: A minor boy allegedly died by suicide on Monday after his family refused to give him ₹350 for a mobile phone recharge in Balangir district, police said.
The incident reportedly occurred at Bastipada in Kuliadaro village under Kantabanji police station limits.
According to reports, the boy had asked his family members for ₹350 to recharge his mobile phone. However, the family allegedly refused to provide the money.
Later, the minor allegedly hanged himself from a tree with a rope near the village.
After family members came to know about the incident, they rescued him in a critical condition and rushed him to the Kantabanji hospital. However, the attending doctor declared him dead on arrival.
Kantabanji police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
