Kataka: A youth went missing after allegedly jumping into the Mahanadi river from the Shikharpur-Jagatpur bridge near Kalibuda in Kataka today.
His bike, ID card and slippers were found lying on the bridge.Fire personnel with boat and rescue equipment from Chauliaganj fire station reached the spot and started a search operation in the river after receiving information.
Meanwhile, according to the mother of the missing youth, a girl who loved her son used to come to his house. The mother said the boy was mentally disturbed as he had not spoken to the youth for some time.
However, the exact reason behind the incident is not yet clear. The search operation is underway.
