Baripada: The Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) has suspended the senior storekeeper of Mayurbhanj District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Baripada for alleged dereliction of duty in connection with throwing medicines into a river.
The suspended official has been identified as Rupendra Nath Singh. Action was taken after media reports highlighted the incident of medicines and medical supplies being thrown away before their expiry date, raising allegations of medical waste management lapses at the DHH.
The CDMO suspended Singh on charges of dereliction of duty following the incident.
