Bhubaneswar: In yet another tragic instance highlighting the plight of migrant workers, a labourer from Kalahandi district allegedly died in Kerala while working to support his family.
The deceased has been identified as Karuna Majhi, a resident of Kandaguda village under Kokasara block.
According to family sources, Majhi was facing severe financial distress and had migrated to Kerala around three weeks ago for work to support his family. He allegedly died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment there.
The exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained. His body is being brought back to his native village today, where a pall of gloom has descended following the news.
