Bhubaneswar: A schoolboy had a narrow escape on Monday morning when an arrow allegedly aimed at him struck the tiffin plate he was carrying instead of his body.
As per reports, the incident took place in Keutaberni village under Naktideul block in Sambalpur district. Amulya Dhal was accompanying his son Soumyaranjan to school when a local resident named Muchi Sahu allegedly shot an arrow targeting the boy. However, the arrow struck the school bag that Soumya was carrying on his back, allowing him to escape narrowly. The arrow hit the food plate he was holding inside the bag. The plate acted as a shield and prevented the arrow from striking the student’s body, allowing him to escape unharmed.
The sudden attack has created a stir in the area. Locals suspect the incident may be linked to previous enmity.
Police are investigating the exact motive and circumstances behind the alleged attempt on the boy’s life.
