Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance has registered another disproportionate assets (DA) case against a junior engineer of the Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation (OLIC), alleging that he possessed assets worth more than 123 per cent of his known sources of income.
The accused, Subrat Mohanty, former Junior Engineer of OLIC’s Udala Sub-Division in Mayurbhanj and currently posted at the OLIC Division in Balasore, was arrested by the anti-corruption agency and is being forwarded to the Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore, on Monday.
According to the Vigilance, a case was registered against Mohanty and his spouse at the Balasore Vigilance police station under Section 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(b)/12 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
Mohanty had earlier been arrested on January 6, 2026, in a trap case registered under Balasore Vigilance PS Case No. 01/2026 for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 60,000 from a contractor for releasing pending bills related to works executed by him.
